FAQ about our volunteering programs
-
What are the costs for volunteering with PVN?
Volunteering with us is free. You only pay for your accommodation with breakfast and dinner. The total cost depends on the length of your stay. See our current prices: https://www.projectvolunteernepal.org/accommodation/costs/
-
How do I apply for a volunteering program?
It’s simple. Use our non-binding online form and tell us a bit about yourself, your skills, and your plans. We’ll take it from there and help you find a good match: https://www.projectvolunteernepal.org/volunteer-projects/apply-volunteer-project/
-
What qualifications do I need?
It depends on the project. For physiotherapy you should have experience as a physiotherapist; for teacher training you should be a trained teacher. At our partner school for children with disabilities you’ll need empathy, patience, and dedication. Good English skills are required for all projects.
-
Why don’t you offer volunteer placements as classroom teachers?
Schools in Kathmandu already have trained Nepali teachers. Short-term, untrained volunteers can unintentionally undermine local staff. We focus on roles where international support truly adds value.
-
How and when do I pay PVN?
You settle your accommodation at the end of your stay. We accept EUR, USD, and NPR.
-
What visa do I need?
You can volunteer while traveling on a Tourist Visa. Apply at a Nepali embassy in your country or get a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (Kathmandu). Please check current visa rules before you travel.
