About Lwang Village

Nestled in the green foothills of the Himalayas, Lwang is a peaceful Gurung settlement surrounded by lush tea gardens, terraced fields, and forested hills. Life here follows a gentle rhythm shaped by community spirit, respect for nature, and the traditions of the Gurung people.

The village offers magnificent views of the Annapurna mountain range, especially on clear mornings when the first sunlight touches the snow-capped peaks. Despite its tranquility, Lwang is full of life – children walking to school, farmers tending their crops, and neighbors greeting each other with genuine warmth.

For volunteers, it’s more than just a placement — it’s an invitation to become part of a living culture, to share daily moments with local families, and to understand what rural Nepal truly feels like beyond the tourist routes. It’s a place to live, learn, and grow within a community that will welcome you with open arms and an open heart.
